Sofia Silva is an artist and photographer. Her projects Spreading Out and Packaged Selves explore the reproducible landscape of our society as a looking glass into contemporary consciousness. More recent Last Walk in Eden and Outside - Looking in draw on her own photographic archive to investigate critical moments in her life and give them new meanings.

Silva has exhibited extensively with solo and group shows in the US, Spain, and Argentina, her home country. Some of her most important exhibitions are: Spreading Out, Ricco Maresca Gallery, New York; Corridor, Art Museum of the Americas, Washington DC; Desiertos Antrópicos, VVVgallery, Buenos Aires; Meditations on the Landscape of Desire, C. Grimaldis Gallery, Baltimore; Looking Now: BMA Digital Photography Project, Baltimore Museum of Art; Noches Encandiladas, Arte x Arte, Buenos Aires; Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales; Salón Nacional de Rosario; Premio Argentino de Artes Visuales; Fondo Nacional de las Artes. She was an Artist in Residence at Piramidón – Centre d’Art Contemporani in Barcelona, Center for Photography at Woodstock y Critic’s Residency Program, Maryland Art Place.

Her work has been acclaimed and highlighted by the press, including Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, City Paper, Baltimore Magazine, among others.
